While Process Consulting Services employs sophisticated modeling tools, real unit performance depends on fundamental chemical engineering principles and equipment design know-how. Operating profits depend on the steel on the ground, not the ideals of a computer model. Revamps always begin with a comprehensive test run to establish major constraints. Grass roots projects draw on the know-how gleaned from test run measurements and subsequent analysis of many operating units. Sound process flow schemes and equipment designs are the focus.
Since 1994 Process Consulting Services has focused on improving clients’
refinery profitability by creating fundamentally sound and operable
process and equipment designs. The real test of any unit is whether the
operators can start it up safely and easily, and be able to operate it
day-to-day meeting charge rate and product specifications throughout the
run. More than 100 projects have included crude/vacuum, lube vacuum,
FCC, delayed coker, visbreaker, saturate gas plant and product treating.
In addition to basic process knowledge, proprietary know-how and
expertise cover heavy crude and deep cut vacuum processing technology.
